Last call for top green startups…

782175_hourglass.jpgHi guys

Tomorrow we’re selecting the definitive list of the top UK start-up companies in green business and clean-tech.

The report, sponsored by the University of Bath and Hill & Knowlton (the PR company)  is listing the UK’s top 30 clean-tech and sustainable business start-up companies.

Those featured will be interviewed, published and recognised as far as we can recognise you.

This report, while focused on the UK, is intended for Greenbang’s global audience of entrepreneurs, investors and business communities, who want to learn about the state of the green innovation industry.

The research is intended to recognize excellence in business, and to demonstrate that business and green credentials can work hand in hand.

The final report, which will appear under the Greenbang banner, will provide a detailed profile of all 30 companies. They will be chosen for their ability to demonstrate excellence in business and environmental innovation. Failing in either of these areas would exclude them from the list.

The report will index rather than rank the country’s most promising young companies. To qualify, the company must:

• Be less than two-years old (give or take)
• Privately owned
• Have a strategic path to profit and/or be an obvious target for
investment
• Sell a product or service that has clear environmental benefits to
society and the planet

Get it done and bag a place. If you have no time, just send us your URL. We’ll take care of the rest.

Global Generation has devoloped an innovative and effective blue print model to address climate change. Engaging inner city young people in leadership training (Generators) and harnessing this energy as a catalyst for implmenting green features in businesses and communities e.g. Living Roofs, Rooftop Allotments, Grey to Green Water Recycling, Renewable Energy, Large Scale Composting. The project, called Living Buildings - Local Links has been short listed in the final 20 for the Big Green Challenge

WHOOPS - HERE’S THE VERSION WITH THE CORRECT URL :)

Hi, We have a green start-up which uses reclaimed timber and other materials for its products - kitchens, furniture, interiors. If you look also as http://www.storyofstuff.com you’ll see how massively this enterprise contributes, inter alia, to carbon emissions reduction: a potentially high-profit, high environmental and social leverage enterprise. Best regards, Robert Weston

Jane Burston Says:

Carbon Retirement is a new form of carbon offsetting that leads to genuine emissions reductions from heavy industry in Europe. We enable individuals and organisations to directly influence industrial carbon emissions in Europe by buying and destroying, or ‘retiring’, permits (EUAs) from the EU Emission Trading Scheme. We just launched a couple of weeks ago and are already causing some interesting debate - follow the link to Reuters Interactive at the bottom of this article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/feedarticle/7669493.

what we’re about

Greenbang tracks the explosion of the environmental industry, reporting on news of green innovation and thought leadership.

We blog on this rather than the environmental problems of the world because we are interested in the answers to climate change.
