One small step for shipping, one big step for forests

bambooEvery now and then, Greenbang stumbles across something that - to be honest - we’d never even imagined. Did you know, for example, that shipping containers are lined with wood, often from tropical forests?

Well, we didn’t, but some bright chaps in the UK have picked up on this and developed a bamboo alternative–partly because bamboo grows again after being cut (and it grows super-fast, especially when compared to trees). What a great idea. And this report says at least one major shipping company is adopting it.

what we’re about

Greenbang tracks the explosion of the environmental industry, reporting on news of green innovation and thought leadership.

We blog on this rather than the environmental problems of the world because we are interested in the answers to climate change.
