Of course, once reduction has been brought to its most effective enviROI+ level, the next 'Re' in the hierarchy is reuse.

Though possibly relatively minor in raw tonnage enviro impact in comparison to recycling as well, it does still offer great opportunities, especially beyond the world of targets and box ticks.

And can impact beyond CSR and legislative compliance into areas of PR and sales, by offering genuine, motivating, rewarding incentives to all those involved, from brands to consumers to, of course, the bin and landfill.

Hence it would be good to see more thought given to all opportunities to promote designed-in reuse.

If any are engaged in such initiatives or seeking to do so, I'd be thrilled to learn more and help promote.

Rubbish need not be a dirty word, after all.
Reply - Quote

Thanks for sharing this-- these are really interesting things to think about. I wonder if there are better ways to ensure that food is eaten when it's fresh (even if that's a short period) rather than trying to lengthen the period of freshness. Part of this comes back to encouraging people to eat local, seasonal food.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('10909','Kirsten@Nexyoo','Thanks for sharing this-- these are really interesting things to think about.
