Boom time for solar stocks… but will it last?

solarGreenbang would have liked to have been an investor in Ascent Solar Technologies this year. In the first nine months of this year, its stock soared by nearly 500%. Many others have merely doubled, but whatever way you skin it, it was a decent bet to be putting your money into solar.

But will it last? Everyone Greenbang talks to about solar seems to be worrying about it turning into something like the equivalent of the IT industry’s RAM market–a race to the bottom as everyone competes on cost. This would be sweet for us types trying to afford solar, but not very cool if you’ve splurged a few grand on the stock…
