By Greenbang on Monday, 17th November 2008

BP Solar has signed to three-year deal to buy multi-crystalline solar wafers – the principal raw material used to produce solar cells – from Chinese manufacturer LDK Solar.

The deal will see LDK Solar will deliver approximately 435 MW of silicon solar wafers, starting next year, and BP Solar will supply a minimum of 1,680 MT of silicon to LDK Solar.

Reyad Fezzani, CEO of BP Solar, said:

“BP Solar has ambitious growth plans over the next few years. We are committed to our customers and ensuring that they receive high quality products at competitive prices.”
