		<description>Former D1 Oils director Karl Watkin is this week addressing a major world foum on alternative fuels, in Rome. And is reported as repeating the demand that Jatropha oil should be differentiated favourably, as it can be grown on marginal land unsuitable for food crops.

Yes it can be grown on marginal land - but it grows better on better land. In Swaziland, where barely a tenth of the country is fertile enough for food crops, there is concern that farmers have been incentivised to switch from food crops to Jatropha planting.
