- Germany-based aleo solar AG plans to open a new sales office in Athens this month;
- StatoilHydro announced today that it will acquire a 30-percent interest in three North Sea exploration licences;
- British scientists studying a variety of gas fields say they’ve found no obvious signs of carbon dioxide leakage from underground formations, indicating that carbon sequestration might not raise worries about potentially dangerous leaks;
- Wales-based renewable energy consultancy Dulas is welcoming the UK’s decision to remove barriers to micropower development: “Anything that makes the installation of small scale renewables easier for customers is great news,” said project manager Andy Warrington;
- The agreement reached by leaders at the G20 Summit this week “makes building a green and sustainable economy one of the six core commitments of economic recovery,” said Energy and Climate Change Secretary, Ed Miliband;
- SunEdison today announced the activation of a 1.2-megawatt photovoltaic solar energy system at Progress Energy’s Sutton Plant in North Carolina.
- Point Carbon says the draft American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 calls for more carbon offsets than the domestic market can supply;
- Municipal Mortgage & Equity LLC has completed the first closing in the sale of substantially all of the renewable energy business operated by its subsidiary, MMA Renewable Ventures LLC to Fotowatio Renewable Ventures;
- enXco, an EDF Energies Nouvelles Company, has dedicated a 1.8-megawatt solar installation at the Hall’s Warehouse Corp. in New Jersey; the facility now has a total capacity of 3.2 megawatts, making it New Jersey’s largest private commercial roof-top solar system.
