  • US-based Aeronautica Windpower has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Norwin A/S of Denmark to manufacture new, commercial-size wind turbines in the US for the North American and Caribbean markets;
  • Electric vehicle owners can plug in their cars and forget about them, knowing they’ll get the cheapest electricity available and won’t crash the grid — using a new technology called the Smart Charger Controller that was developed at the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory;
  • Head Research Directors at CICERO Knut H. Alfsen and Grete Hovelsrud report on how Norway is balancing the climate issue with the socio-economic climate;
  • The Met Office says the coming summer is “odds on for a barbecue summer,” with temperatures across the UK likely to be warmer than average and rainfall near or below average;
  • Following a successful second funding period, the first three Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft Research Centres will again be extended and will continue for another four years, with each receiving about €25 million in funding.
