		<description>This is the age old chicken and egg scenario. Without vehicles on the road there would be no reason for stations to add E85 pumps. And without E85 pumps there would be no reason for manufacturers to produce flex fueled vehicles. Knowing this the government took it upon themselves to provide a market for the vehicles giving the manufacturers a reason to produce them. This has also spurred the development of over 1800 E85 locations.

The one thing the article doesn&#039;t point out is that the UL suspended certification of E85 pumps a couple of years ago even though there had been no reported problems. About a year ago the UL released standards for new E85 pumps but as of yet hasn&#039;t fished testing and certified any pumps for use with E85.
