Singapore PowerGrid (SPGG) aims to reduce service disruptions and the costs associated with power outages by implementing the next generation of geographic information system (GIS) and outage management technology.
Working with Esri South Asia and Microsoft platforms, IT solutions provider Telvent will provide SPPG with its Responder Outage Management System. The system will be integrated with a GIS system to provide the utility with a smart-grid-ready outage management system that can better control service interruptions and manage daily operations of its energy network.
The Singapore utility will also use Telvent’s GIS solutions to create an interactive map of its electrical grid with real-time information. This should help SPPG respond more rapidly and accurately to power outages and maintenance issues.
