		<description>The sad fact is we may be past the tipping point.  Cutting carbon emissions seems like a hopeless and impossible task.

Consider this:  China and India are building coal-fired steam electricity plants like there is no tomorrow. Texas Utilities, in the Great State, are building a half-dozen or so COASL-FIRED steam generating plants.  WHY?  Texas is loaded with natural gas.  Why doon&#039;t they use that?

With examples like the above we will never lower carbon emissions.  Now, the lobbyists for big coal and big oil are trumpeting global &quot;cooling&quot;.  Lotsa luck.  Glaciers have been shrinking here in Western Washington since I was a kid.
