Readers – Tell us your thoughts on CO2 goals

By Greenbang on Wednesday, 25th November 2009

Green Energy PollWhat do you think about efforts to reduce carbon emissions? Are we not aiming high enough? Aiming too high?

You can have your say and help spark some constructive discussion via the Carbon Conversation, Greenbang’s new poll in association with Cisco. Just click here now to get started — it takes only five minutes, plus you get a chance to win one of four Freeloader Solar Chargers for your mobile, iPod or camera.

The poll lets you tell us your views on green energy issues. It’s not difficult, won’t take long, you might enjoy it and you can see how your opinions compare to other Greenbang readers when the results are published here in a few weeks time.

So what’s it going to be? “Yes, I want to share my views with Greenbang.com and change the world.” Or, “No, I want to bury my head in the sand.” (You don’t really want to do that, do you?) Take a few minutes and tell us what you think now … and thanks!

READERS COMMENTS - Have your say...

  1. David Allen says:

The sad fact is we may be past the tipping point. Cutting carbon emissions seems like a hopeless and impossible task.

Consider this: China and India are building coal-fired steam electricity plants like there is no tomorrow. Texas Utilities, in the Great State, are building a half-dozen or so COASL-FIRED steam generating plants. WHY? Texas is loaded with natural gas. Why doon’t they use that?

With examples like the above we will never lower carbon emissions. Now, the lobbyists for big coal and big oil are trumpeting global “cooling”. Lotsa luck. Glaciers have been shrinking here in Western Washington since I was a kid. I’ll be 81 next summer.
