Webinar: What’s status of UK feed-in tariff?

Published Tuesday, 8th March 2011

How successful has the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) been in stimulating the growth of renewable energy across the UK? What impact, if any, might be felt from the government’s recent announcement it would review part of the FIT earlier than expected? And where do the greatest opportunities lie for solar-, wind- and other clean-energy firms?

Those and other questions will be the focus of a Greenbang Research webinar, “Analysis of the Feed-in Tariff,” scheduled for 2 to 3 pm GMT on Wednesday, March 23. Research analyst Raphael Raggatt, lead author of Greenbang’s latest research report on the FIT, will give the presentation. Attendance is free but limited to the first 100 attendees, so early registration is recommended.

Online registration is available here.

The introduction of the FIT in April 2010 has sparked an explosive reaction in the UK renewable energy market. This webinar explains what the FIT is, why it has been implemented, what technologies are covered and how the market has reacted so far since its introduction. It will also address the implications of the government’s latest decision to review the FIT early, particularly in regards to large-scale photovoltaic (PV) installations.

Other questions the 30-minute webinar will address: With the UK seeing an unprecedented increase in renewable energy market size, in particular solar PV, can this growth be sustainable? What are the opportunities that have already been taken and which are still available? How have each of the technologies reacted and what impact will the FIT review have on the market?

Among those who should consider attending the webinar are executives at clean-energy firms; renewable energy system manufacturers and vendors; large-scale utility providers; government policy-makers; local councils; agricultural industry members; consulting, PR and marketing firms; investors and financial institutions; building and construction professionals; and homeowners or businesses interested in microgeneration systems.
